Hi Alan, AH> All of a sudden, I'm having a problem with squish AH> message areas. For some reason, every day the .sqd AH> files of some areas (different areas every day), which AH> hold the messages, are renamed with the extension .~~~ AH> and thus can't be read by my reader, by Bluewave, or AH> online. The .~~~ suffix only lasts for a split second normally, so something rather unusual is probably happening.... Are any processes that access the message bases aborting? Check the timestamp of the file and compare that with ALL your logs to see what prog was running around the time of the error. One other possibility that I can think of, you may have an error on the HD that is preventing the directory fron being completely updated at the time of the error, a possiblle indication of a pending HD failure? AH> Using latest OS/2 versions of Max and Squish since they AH> came out, and haven't changed anything. When you say "Latest versions", WHICH versions exactly (executabel date & timestamp), Max 3.01 came out around 1995 but a Y2k release came out in 1999. Cheers.............pk. --- Maximus/2 3.01* Origin: Another Good Point About OS/2 (3:772/1.10) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 550 620 848 @PATH: 772/1 140/1 138/146 392 123/500 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
