ive tried your program without any problems. so, maybe you should change the 
compiler and or the operating system. 
PS: since you didnt tell us what OS, Compiler you use, i do not tell it to 
you ... 
PS2: OS2, NT4.0, IBM VACPP 3.0 (3.5)
PS3: another suggestion: allocate the arrays via new ?
