Kelly,
I to would hate to see any RC conference dropped. Regarding your moving
up to a Supersportster, you probably be better off following your
nstructor's
advice. A SS may be just a little to hot for you right now. A trike geared
stick may be as much as you can handle right now while opening up some
acrobatics later on. You could always buy a SS kit and build that while
flying a stick. I had one student who was learned to fly on GB Falcon 56. I
set it up very mildly for the first two years of his flying. Gradually, the
CG was moved back and control throws were increased and today he still has
that very same plane. The power plant has been changed from the original OS
max 30 ring to a ST .45 ABC. If he would have tried to learn on this setup
that falcon would be toothpicks by now. Learning to fly is a gradual
rocess.
You should be encoraged that with only 1.5 gallons worth of experience the
fact that you're taking your own landing is pretty darned good. Good luck
nd
listen to your instructor.
