how someone coveting his position might see it as that way.

You, on the other hand, make a fool of yourself, and made deals with
people who have since stabbed you in the back.  Playing with them
didn't
help you at all, and you REALLY need to see that.  I strongly
suspect you
took some bad advice and did things you might not have done on your
own,
but you DID them and you have to accept the result.

Much of what you have been involved in the past 2 years is what has
speeded up the demise of FidoNet as it used to exist.  Add the
Internet,
and you have a whole package.  Neither one by itself would have done
nearly as complete a job of destroying the 'family' that existed
within
FidoNet back some years ago. But your antics, along with Paris,
Hamm, Witt, and a few others, were the catalyst that drove off the
best sysops and with
them, the best users.

THAT is why I'm finally leaving FidoNet.  The best of it is mostly
gone,
and what good remains can NOT compete with the skulkers of the Flame
echo
and the other wannabes who tear down instead of building up.

I know that my leaving will come as a major disappointment to a few
people
who will lose the target of opportunity that drives their shallow
lives,
but that's the breaks guys.
