Hello Wayne, > -> Beauty! Of course, there are those passing laws to have YOUR dog > -> labelled a "dangerous offender" even though he's far from it! :( > He was attacked by another dog just this morning for a total of 15 > dog attacks, he still didn't growl or bite. I'm so sorry to hear he was attacked again :( > Actually he didn't seem to notice. > I interposed my body which wasn't much of a risk considering the dog's > small size. It's good that you were there to protect him. > Denver county Colorado however has banned the Pit Bull breed entirely > and is euthanizing them all even without a complaint :-( Yes, I read about that .. it made me sick to read it. My niece has a pit bull breed (not sure which one.. she told me once, but now I've forgotten) and this dog is the gentlest dog I've seen. She's a real sweetheart.. luckily they live far from Colorado :) They're in Los Angeles. > Now there IS a Pit Bull about 4 blocks from here that would have killed > the dog that attacked mine this morning in a single bite, same dog > nearly killed mine. :( > Pinellas Animal Control won't label that animal dangerous unless he > attacks yet another. That is absolutely sad to hear. I guess they expect people will just avoid that dog's territory? and hope newcomers aren't surprised? [...] > I was severely attacked once by a person I didn't know from behind, > I didn't _quite_ go to my knees unconscious from the blow from the club. > Still I refused to issue the attack command the original owners of > Spanky had trained him to. > I knew whatever the circumstances the dog would have been put down. Yep, you're right about that. > The dog remained calm and stayed as expected and I even handed his lead > to a stander by to hold while EMT's put a compression bandage on my head > wound. > I was soaked to the waist in my own blood. Sounds like an amazing dog you have there... :) Take care, Janis --- BBBS/LiI v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 261/38 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
