It is the Public Broadcasting System.  

Unlike ABC, CBS, etc, it is a non-profit TV 
system.  Its support (as they say) "comes 
from viewers like you."  

They televise shows that often would never 
be shown on the Major Networks.  And, no, it 
is not because they are second rate shows.  

My favorite show is produced by WGBH, a PBS 
affiliate in Boston, Massachusetts.  It 
is _NOVA_.  

If you like science, it is a Must Watch show.
