or you could simply accept the fact that you have no right to the spot
outside your house & accept the fact that if someone else has it then you
simply have to park elsewhere or get a driveway.

My street has exactly the same issue & is regularly used by commuters to
avoid paying for parking, it is just something that I have to live with.
