In Saddam Hussein's secular Iraq woman gained greatly in rights and
educational oportunities.

Now Iraq is largely Shia Muslim woman are suffering under vastly less
tolerant conditions, have far fewer opportunities and are more
frequently abused.

Moving from Iraq for a moment "female circumcisn" is a barbaric
practice widely practiced in Muslim dominated nations.

Saudi Arabia is another horror story for the way it treats women
