My actions would have been very different from yours.  You brought as much
'personal issue' in as Ward did but you then prevented any level of
representation on where you were innaccurate.  

It turns out later you failed due dilligence to notify the new Z1C that they
had guest access which has since been repaired.  I could be you felt that was
not your job to notify them.  I feel it was and if not, notification so others
could fix it for you, was in order.
