They are dead and gone over here :-(. They used to trade as Tandy in
the UK but sold the operation to (of all people) a company called
Carphone Wharehouse, who kept some of the company owned stores and
turned them into mobile 'phone shops, closed down the distribution
setup and the franchised outlets (which was most of them)...

The reason was in the bit you snipped! :-(. They have better bandwidth
than the common Op-amps of the era (like the 741, which they predate),
and are compensated (unlike the 709) and so are easier to use.
