There's no concept of a "system printer". on the AS/400 like
other machines, and there's plenty of third party replacements. (and always
has been)
Modems are a bit different, you have to roll your own cable and have an
open com port, but once you do that, the AS/400 can support it. (at least
for the last 10 years anyway)
