Novell disagrees.  DOSOPNFX, in particular, is needed to stop the server from 
crashing and doing other funny things.  And, speaking from experience, Novell 
is right. :)

This is true.

That includes DOSOPNFX.  You are correct in saying that, if the minimum OS 
updates are applied, a NW 3.11 server should support all of these clients.  
If that is that you mean by saying that no "special" patches are required, 
then I suppose you are correct.  However, the regular patches are required.

I can't think of any other excuse for running NW 3.11...
