I can't help you with your problems, but I have a sporster that seems to
work just fine with the IBM.NET ISP connection. I usually get a
50something and a 288 or 312 when I do an IT6 after I get off line.
Downloading a large file (abut 1.3 meg) that a friend does with a 28K
modem takes him 8 minutes and only 5 min for me.
Probably your phone line. Don't remember the number, but you can call a
1800 number to a USR test line and it will tell you if your line is in
good enough shape to do the 56 k stuff.
