-=> From what I recall, Clark Ray said this to Lorne Murphy <=-
LM> located _Presenting Genesis_ yet? That's a weird one.
CR> Nope, I've never seen that one. The one that I keep seeing that I
Very strange, and seemingly randomly chosen tracks, in no
particular order. I think you took part in the conversation between
Kenneth and I regarding this album, I recall you liking "Time
Table" and me hating it! :)
CR> haven't picked up is one of the re-releases of _From Genesis To
CR> Revelation_. I think it's called _When The Sour Turns To Sweet_, but
CR> I'm not positive. It's a very colorful cover with lots of pink and
CR> pictures of the band. The first version of that album that I picked
Ah, that one I have seen on cassette. I used to have the FGtR
cassette as well, with the original cover, which was London.
There's SO many re-releases of this album, as you know, due to
Jonathan "I feel the band owes me something" King's shameful
exploitation. A good example is the re-release (not sure which of
the thousand versions) that has the picture of circa-1980 Genesis
on the cover.
CR> Yeah, I didn't know that they did this. It's the same version of "The
CR> Lady Lies" that's on the _Musica_ bootleg. Heh, the bootleg actually
CR> sounds better :-)
I actually did KNOW of this release from Geoff Parkyn's "Turn it on
again" discography, but I assumed it was long lost.
CR> I've got that single. It's a British single on the Famous Charisma
CR> label. It's even in a picture sleeve (picture of the three members).
CR> I like both the B-sides about equally, actually. "Vancouver" is a
CR> beautiful song. It was unfortunate that they left both of them off
CR> the album.
That's a nice one to have, Clark. I like "Vancouver" as well, but
it pales in comparison to tDtLWO, IMO.
CR> from 1982 of a concert in Italy. The only reason I bought it was for
CR> the full live version of "Supper's Ready." The sound sucks!
Yeah, I've got that one (not on vinyl). It wasn't until about 4
years ago that I realised that the European leg of the '82 tour
WASN'T the last time they played SR. I really like the medley from
the 1st. leg of the '86 tour where they throw it onto the end of
"In the Cage/In that Quiet Earth", except that Phil's voice was not
in top form, and it's WAYYYYY too slow.
CR> I didn't know that. But, you know, that makes sense now that I think
CR> of it 'cause there are no Wakeman-trademark sounds in that song.
Indeed. Strange that Wakeman didn't get into this one, especially
since the footage of them in the studio performing this tune shows
him having a great time. This piece belongs to Howe and Bruford
IMO.

mellotron chord towards the end is painful!)
