We've discussed this before.  Yes, there were/are some who think that.
Others were hoping that Harris and Democrats could come up with a
Constitutionally sound law that would bring it back under federal
jurisdiction and make it legal everywhere.

Since the possibility of her becoming President, and having a majority in
Congress, was a long shot, it wasn't likely.  But that is what most of them
were hoping for.
