Barry, check what is installed in your configuration for the Hangup Command.
Unless you have changed it by accident, it should be the three letters DTR -- 
you can check it this way:
Bring up QmodemPro with no dial directory showing.
 Type Alt-Z
 Type C
 Type D
 choose the device you want to check by moving with arrow keys.
 Type Alt-C
 Look at Hangup -- it should show DTR  -- if not fix it.
 Hit carriage return and escape your way back to beginning.
 Leave QmproPro and bring it up again and test it.
