This happens with WIN95 dial-up connect and Wincomm Pro 7.0... Anything which 
uses the WIN95 modem driver... With 16bit apps the modem stays on until 
connected, so it's got to be something to do with WIN95... If I connect 
directly to COM2 to use AT commands (dialing manually) and reset the modem 
(AT&F or even just atm1) the speaker stays on until connect.... Any other 
time I hear the dialtone until it begins to dial and then it is silent...
