Just got back from Comdex. The "Smart and Friendly" brand of CD-R's will be
dumping their 2x burners (w/software) for a LIST price of $399 this Xmas.
Also looked at the prototype of the Philips CD RE-RECORDABLE CD-R, which they
claim will be out 2nd Q '97. And I looked at a DVD burner as well; 1st
generation will retail at around $10k, but then so did the first Nakamichi 
CD-R
