I am getting a little concerned about the number of mails you send
me..as my replies seem to lead to nothing most of the time in your
case and are thus a waste of time and effort on both my and your
part. When reading and considering the studies of our learned
friends the researchers...you first have to ascertain the
objective of their studies and for whom they are studying and
why. This necessitates a bit of asking around (difficult for
you in Internet and Fido I would agree as you do not get the
other side of the coin...i.e. the silent...to you..protesters
in other labs). Remember when Klaus Wiegand broke the
sensational news that scientists had discovered that a bacteria
was responsible for heart attacks. The news was about a year old
when he broke it (and is still being upheld by the scientists
concerned) but is still being repeated in the press and some
less serious scientific journals. I shot him down with valid
and serious quotes and opinions and he disappeared from here
as quickly as he came (sad because he is more or less a
neighbour of mine and we are working on a wild plant database
together). I am not criticising Klaus here either..merely
those scientists who are forced by their fund suppliers to either
produce a product or a Nobel Prize or merely in need of some
sort of recognition (if not from the scientific community
then at least from the ignorant public at large). The latest
and greatest hoax at the moment is helicobacter pylori
being responsible for gastric ulcers (the pharma industry
needs to sell more...rapidly becoming less effective...antibiotics).
