I concur. I for one, wish to promote Jim Henry's list both domestically
and internationally. A significant amount of the airguns we use are
manufactured and used extensively abroad. There's a wealth of information
and resource out there if we encourage participation from others. We get
so wrapped up in defending our favorites sometimes that we forget this.
Good things happen when you post courteous and informative airgun chat.
For example, I just got in the mail last week from a fellow in The
Netherlands, a copy of a past issue of VISIER, with extensive testing of
the RX-1. It's written in German, so he's taken the time to write some
interpretations for me. Last month, a fellow airgunner in Germany sent me
a tin of Barracuda (spell?) pellets, sampling of other pellets and an RX-1
seal. I also receive various magazines from a fellow airgunner in the UK
off and on. Most of these UK airgunners in particular know their airguns
and can shoot it well, thanks to their 12 ft lb. limitation.
The CompuServe BB & Airgun Forum had a fair amount of participation from
many countries. The Airgun Letter Forum is growing by leaps and bounds,
with excellent participation from other countries. Here, in my opinion,
our discussions don't always encourage participation from folks anywhere.
It seems like we're always looking for a good fight as oppose to inviting a
healthy exchange. I think if we're good enough to take advantage of Jim's
Henry's listing, we ought to be good enough to promote it.
