I'm pretty sure that NASDS would not have approved of graduating a
"non-swimmer" either (my second open water certification class was through
NASDS). It just goes to prove my point that a particular instructor can have
a great effect on the quality of the class. On a side note "instructors" who
will cut corners for you may not be doing you a favor (this is not the same
as considering high levels of experience as prerequisites).
