I saw a promo video on something like that years ago. IIRC the
settings from previous mixdowns were stored on a hard disk and
read back in sync with time code on the audio tapes. Very
ingeneous!

Natty! I have detailed diagrams of similar things operated by
pneumatics that were used on pipe organs about 100+ years ago.
Although they only had two positions, on or off.
