-> Hi ho! Kit, couldn't help but agree with your statement. Although
-> being from Pennsylvania and only have gotten to DL twice in my life,
-> the first time was as a child. The magical memories and wonderment
-> never left me, and when I went back to DL as a young adult, it
-> clicked again for me. Now that I and my wife go to WDW, we easily
-> find contentment in that magical place! You have to 'let go' of
-> your worries and such and just relax and become a child again! I'm
-> glad that the Disney Imagineers are finally updating Tomorrowland
-> for today's tastes as that was my biggest disappointment as an
-> adult. When I was a child, Tomorrowland was right on target! I
-> think it's a good idea to turn it into a sort of H G W vision of
-> the future. That'll never be outdated!
It always was a fantasy view of the future. Walt intended to show what
could be done, but really it was never designed to say "this is how the
real future will be". I miss the old TL, but I expect the new one will
be great. DL is constantly changing. I miss the old attractions terribly
and love the new ones tremendously. Changes also helps us to keep coming
back time and time again.
The Imagineers were brilliant with DL. They designed it so that you
really can leave the outside world behind. From the moment you walk
through the front gate you are surrounded by DISNEY. It is everywhere.
There are characters and buildings and parades, rides and shows. You
forget that you are right smack dab in the middle of an major American
city. Instead, you have been whisked off to a new land - a Disney land.
They keep the charm by making sure nothing from the outside world is
visible from inside the park. Everything your senses picks up is a
Disney delight. The music, the smells, the sounds, the atmosphere, the
wonderment - the whole thing.
When I am at other parks I am sometimes entertained or ocassionally even
delighted (I am a HUGE roller coaster nut), but I don't leave the world
behind. When I visit Disney, I forget all else. I am a kid again, no
morgate, no worries no messes, no spills.
