>> As to an EleWEB echo that would allow EleWEB list gating, >> I can't particularly stand EleWEB, so I would have no >> interest in starting that echo. >> Phil BG> Hey, Phil, BG> Not to offend or start a row, but I run an EleWeb system, BG> and still have DOZENS of questions. No offense taken... I don't see why there would be. I was just pointing out that if this echo were gated with the Ele mailing list, that it wouldn't fly on that end as far as any questions pertaining to Ele, as any questions about EleWEB in the EleBBS list -always- result in the person being directed the EleWEB list... works the other way too. As to my comment above, I just said that *I* have no inerest in EleWEB or starting an echo for it, but, it would be a lovely thing if somebody else did. BG> I would like a separate echo for EleWeb. That way those BG> of you who do not care for it would not have to put up BG> with off topic messages. AFAIK, you could simply put the echotag in the echolist, and seek distribution by the backbones. I forget the URL for the echolist that gives all the info you need to know, but I'll check on it later if nobody puts it up in here first. BG> I don't know about gating or anything like that, but I'd BG> like to see several new echoes opened up (some old ones BG> that have been dropped, actually) Judging by my end, 2/3 of the echoes that exist now could be dropped, and nodody would notice. The tags are listed, they are on the backbone, but nary a message ever hits them... ever. As to old ones that have dropped, they likely had zero traffic for a very extended period of time... If you wanted echoes brought back, you could simply list them, if a placeholder tag doesn't exist, but getting traffic to them would be an entirely different story. What can you do? Just the way it is. BG> Thanks for letting me add my two cents... Don;t have to thank -me- for anything :) I'm just a lurker/sometime poster here :) Phil BG> (1:123/22) --- FMail/Win32 1.60BG> * Origin: *Square One telnet://squareone.no-ip.org * Origin: The Quondam Continuum! - NY Capital District - (1:267/169) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 267/169 200 106/1 2000 633/267 |
