Win 98 loaded "Vortex drivers" for the combo software sound card -
modem here.

Knoppix loads the very same "Vortex drivers" for the Turtle Beach
sound card I put in after I ripped out the useless software sound card -
modem that came with this H.P.

Knoppix also auto-configured and responds perfectly with the onboard
ATI Mach video.
