On an "relatively" isolated net you mean WINS?  The rest of the 
district does not use it and we don't have enough WIN services
to bother.  So far we've just been using LMHOSTS files.
I'm not familiar with ZONES in anything other than MAC environs.
I setup a Zone for our Mac's on NT because our router is still set 
to pass the traffic and there is confusion with another campus.
If we fix the router I assume our Mac's will need a Zone and don't
know if they can create their own without a server or router.
