Per a Pew poll:

-- 62% of U.S. adults said abortion should be legal in all or most cases
-- 36% said it should be illegal in all or most cases.

Per the CDC (41 states + NYC) in 2021:

-- 93% of all abortions were in the first trimester
-- 6% were during the second
-- 1% were during the third

In 2020, per one source (Guttmacher), there were:

 -- 14.4 abortions in the U.S. per 1,000 women ages 15 to 44. (1.44%)
 -- This number has been generally declining since 1981 (29.3 / 1000)

In 2021, per another source (CDC), there were:

-- 11.6 abortions per 1000 women in the same age range (1.16%)
 -- This number has been generally declining since 1980 (25 / 1000)

Per the CDC, the vast majority of women who had abortions in 2021 were
unmarried (87%).

Per the CDC (41 states + NYC) in 2021:

-- 57% of abortions were the first abortion the woman ever had
-- 24% it was their second
-- 11% it was their third
-- 8% it was their fourth or more

Per Guttmacher, the number of abortion providers has been on a steady decline,
from 2,908 total providers in 1982 to 1,603 in 2020. In 2020, 50% of the
providers (clinics) accounted for 96% of all abortions.
