Hi guys,

Got a new EleBBS (DOS .10) installation running here on a (previously retired)
386 - not a fast specced machine - 40MHz, 4mb ram, but should be sufficient
for running the BBS.

Most DOS software I run on it is fairly snappy - but not EleBBS - the screen
teletyping is slow, looks like you are watching data ouput from a 2400 baud
modem. Changing file or message groups/areas is also very slow too & if you
are editing a message, using the backspace results in a high lag (& you end up
backspacing too far).

Did a test installation of RemoteAccess & QuickBBS too, these two packages
perform at speed, so the problem seems to be EleBBS - anyone have any ideas ?

Am using the standard package - the DOS 32 bit version simply won't run
correctly at all, it just shows blank screens.

Pretty standard DOS system here - MS DOS 6.22, QEM 8.03, no TSR's (beyond a
fossil driver & PC Tools 9's disk cache - not even running an ANSI driver).

cheers,

Lance
