Way back around 1960 Mad created and released a 33-1/3 rpm album "Mad Twists
Rock and Roll" (the 's'-es in Twists were backwards). As a promotion they put a
cardboard insert in one issue that had a vinyl coating and a cut from the
album pressed
on it. The song used was IMO the best one on the album, "She Got A
Nose Job" by the
Dellwoods. I still have that cardboard record, fifty years later; I saw a
copy of that
cardboard recording for sale on eBay five or six years ago for $50 (the magazine cost
35 cents at the time). FWIW the Dellwoods were a pretty good singing group.

Mad did release one or two subsequent albums, but they were dogs. I know I have at
least two of the three that I know about (and I might have them all, I'd
have to look -
thee are, after all, nearly 6,000 LPs here).
