Replying to a message of Thom LaCosta to Bob Ackley: TL> Bob Ackley wrote in a message to Thom LaCosta: BA>> Some are towers... The house I lived in until 2005 measured 22 x 28 feet, and the walls were a bit over a foot thick (brick walls with an air gap in the middle). Useable floor space about 825 square feet in 1.75 stories (not a full basement). You wouldn't believe how much crud I had in there, shucks it's still tight in this place. I will freely admit to being a pack rat. Now I'm in a 4 bedroom farm house, 1800 square feet, plus a 18x30 foot concrete block building (used to be used for milking cows) and a separate 15x20 foot shed that's divided into a workshop and a dog kennel (I have ten dogs - and the nearest neighbor is 1/4 mile away); note that I replaced everything below the roof in the shed as the (formerly wood, now concrete block) walls were about to collapse. I'm now in the process of replacing all of the windows (the old ones weren't drafty, they were windy) and the siding of the main farm house. Should be finished by this time next year (started around this time last year). Hopefully the heating bill will come down significantly. --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/200 331 34/999 90/1 120/228 123/500 128/2 187 140/1 222/2 SEEN-BY: 226/0 236/150 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 SEEN-BY: 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 393/68 396/45 633/260 267 285 712/848 SEEN-BY: 800/432 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 5030/1256 @PATH: 300/3 14/5 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
