While bangin' around on the keyboard, Joe Beels muttered to Jerry Kenney
about HELP SENDING .VOC TO COM1

What do you think about a 1:1 xfrmr, with an RC network to form an
impedance of about 600ohms, connect that to an RJ-11 jack. The other
side another RC network to match the output Z of the SB (say,
10kOhms?)
How about (quick scratching of my noggin) Rout (RJ-11 side) seriesed
with one leg of the xfrmr, and a .01uf cap accross the lines.
The Input side (from the SB) a 1k (again, seriesed with the hot side
of the output) and a .1uf accross the xfrmr leads...
Hmmm... I need to toss this together, and see if I can get some music
played accross the phone line! (would be GREAT for recording a
Message, and transferring it to a answering service!)

... The trouble with life is the lack of cool background music.
