Is it possible he has some echos turned on from you that he does not have
turned on here?

You may want to check with him before manually turning things off on him.

Otherwise I have no idea why you can't connect with him. I'm not having that
problem. Are you connecting but seeing errors? Or not connecting at all?

Other than that, I agree. He should definitely keep a link with you for
host-routed netmail. You may have to contact him to make sure he didn't remove
your link information.
