RJ> My gf and I went out to the museum a few months ago. Luckily, we
happene
RJ> to choose a weekend that the steam engine was running the excursion train
o
RJ> on the eastbound leg. I saw a few other engines there that I'd like to
ee
RJ> back in operating shape, like the 2-6-6-2 and that 4 (?) truck Shay. I
RJ> understand the Shay was getting traded to someplace back east, though.
The Shay is going to the Cass Railroad. Saddly we didn't have the money to
o
anything with it any more. It did searve as our running Steam Engine fro
uite
a few years .It needs seriously boiler work. That with the Fact thet ift
didn't repersent anything used in Our Area sealed the decision. It is still
sitting out at campo. the deal has been made and we are just waiting for
the Trucking firm to pick it up.
The Articualted 2-6-6-2 restoration is a far off dream. It was
origionaly a Saddle Tank engine. The conversion by the Skunk Railroad left it
saddly lacking in Traction on the Front set of drivers. It alsoc needs far
more work then we are presently capable of.
