 I might be a bit late replying......but I had the same problem...
 apparently there is a conflict in Win95 that disables the Word 6 Thesaurus
 A fix is available on the BBS ...I can't think what the name of the file
 is....but do a file find search using the the look for command.."thesaurus"
 it replaces the old thesaurus file in Word 6 and you shouldn't have any
 problems after that.
Hang on...I have found the file name......Msthes.dll...it is located in the
Win95 area on the BBS
