It is still not known for sure whether viruses mutate or are simply
picked up by people travelling to other countries with other forms
of viruses. As to Ebola..it is known that chimpanzees sometimes
get it..and that not all the chimps in a group are decimated by
it (Jane Goodall) and that outbreaks in the human population ONLY
occur in the very few isolated areas where it is known that chimps
are eaten as a source of food. It has not yet been proven where
the chimps get Ebola and nor has it been proven conclusively (who
would dare to act as guinea pig) that eating chimp meat is
responsible. But a little common sense here (in view of the
obvious connection) would seem good advice.
