I'm not talking about their doorstep. I'm talking about the gate into the
parking lot that services the Temple.

At most LDS Temples that gate is well inside the property. The very few
Temples that are in urban settings anyone performing animal sacrifice will
have to deal with the authorities of that municipality and/or state. Also,
in those urban settings it *WOULD* be on the doorsteps of the Temple.
