Hi Thom, > No sooner than that was fixed...then my DSL modem died....and it only took 3 > hours of arguing with the ISP support people to convince them it was their > equipment. Luckily I had a spare and I'm back online. Don't you love it... at least your ISP listened... when we determined that our modem was outdated and causing ridiculous problems with bandwidth, etc., our isp's Tech dept. didn't want to hear about it. We knew it was the modem that was over 5 years old... so I finally talked to our local tech representative who lives here in Windsor (The main office is in Madison Wisconsin and we're in Windsor NY ) and she got us a new modem. They wanted us to apply a patch that they couldn't guararantee would work ... "it could kill the modem you have, but that doesn't happen that often" hahahahaha... I can just see it now if I'd listened to them. You know, they're so technically savy Take care, Janis --- BBBS/LiI v4.01 Flag* Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 34/999 106/1 114/635 120/228 123/500 140/1 222/2 226/0 236/150 SEEN-BY: 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 280/1027 SEEN-BY: 320/119 393/68 396/45 633/260 267 285 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 SEEN-BY: 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 261/38 633/260 267 |
