Not the same thing.

An elitist in this context is one whom looks down on the electorate and
stereotypes them based on their traits..

Keep in mind that some of whom Obama referred to where those whom would
have voted for either him or Hillary.

After the 2004 Election, some liberals tried to rationalize the outcome by
analyzing the red states and saying that only dumb uneducated bible
thumping trailer trash voted against Kerry.

That my friend is elitism, feel free to include individual wealth if you
want, but we havent had any poverty stricken Presidents in a long time.
