Our last cat died about 3 years ago.  At that point we decided that having had
cats for over 45 years or so, that would be the last one. :)

Odd how for many weeks after Churchill died we would still come home from the
store and open the door very carefully as he always knew when we went shopping
and would be right at the door hoping he'd get something.  (He rarely did, but
he always hoped.)  :)

Dumb cat would be right at the door and when we opened it he'd get his nose
banged if we didn't open it carefully. :)

BTW, almost all of cats died due to kidney failure!  Course we had long-lived
cats, most being 14 or better.
