| subject: | Pet food (was: Re: Beenlooking for me?) |
Replying to a message of Carol Shenkenberger to Joe Mackey: CS> I'll grant though that not all pets have diet issues so a decent store CS> brand is ok enough for dogs. Cats though may develop issues on it if CS> kibble. Spcifically, kidney and bladder issues. I've always fed my cats dry cat food. Two of them - both males - developed a urinary blockage (presumably kidney stones or equivalent). Apparently they didn't drink enough water and the salts accumulated. The cat I still have (since 2000) has always had dry cat food (occasionally a can for special treat), but she's never had the problem. --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 550 620 848 @PATH: 300/3 116/901 3634/12 123/500 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
