Ok, I got mail back from them... here is what they said
We have USR Couriers, Sportsters, & MultiTech MultiModems...if you can tell
us what Hub & Port #'s you are dialling into, we can check to see which
modems you are connecting with when it doesn't work (through Win3.1x, it'll
automatically tell you after connect; with Win95, you'll need to enable the
Post-Dial Terminal Window located in the My Computer icon -> Dial-Up
Networking -> Properties of the UNIServe icon -> Configure button -> Options
tab)
So, because they have such a hodge podge of modems, I will have to log in 
manually and see wich one causes me the trouble.
