Well, 90% efficient means 10% waste.
10% of 5KW is 500W and 10% of 1KW is 100W.
500W > 100W.
But; I was talking about near idle conditions. I may be wrong; but, I
believe that a 5KW inverter wastes more energy than a 1KW inverter when
under a very light load. If so, it would seem that using an inverter
which is barely big enough, would be the most energy efficient unless
used heavily most of the time.
