This explains their use of celebrities. The sheeple are accustomed to seeing celebrities doing silly things to whimsical music. They love that, and that's what's normal to them.

When they start seeing their beloved celebrities having meltdowns, seemingly due to Trump's existence, that turns them into Alans. Alans don't want their celebrities to be unhappy and they will stop at nothing to bring those smiles back, even if it kills them.
