The power feed to the house is also underground, but only from a  
pole about 30m away. The rest of the power service is above  
ground everywhere - and lots of potential trees that could  
interfere.

My 8x10 sliding glass door has sustained quite a few storms over  
its 45 years.  Not sure how much longer it will last.  The next  
largest window is 3'x3', and the other windows are smaller; they  
don't buckle a bit.
