What about firmware? BIOS? Type of RAM?

OpenOffice and NeoOffice both run on OS X.
Be that as it may, Apple has never shown any special interest in running OS
X on other people's hardware. They did go through a short period where they
licensed the OS to a handful of clone manufacturers, but that didn't last
long.
