YEp, Buddy was an adoptee, stray on the street.  Roxy, our
first rottie was adopted off the street, though she
supposedly had a master.  I've told that story in doghouse
too many times.

YOu're right on older ones, even if they've been abandoned
or strays they're more settled in with life.  I love our
Schotze (spelling) dearly, but it's been this last year that she's starting
to really settle in as part of the pack
without the puppy issues or the competition for place in the pack issues. 
She knows her place in the pack now, she's
sure of our love and that her needs will be met.  We got her as a pup from
the breeder, and even then, there are those
puppy issues to contend with.  NOt bad for a younger man,
but for us older folks ...
