Hills Diet prescription probably. Bit bogus if you ask me to make it sold
that way. In my case, once i finally 'got it' that grains can be an issue and
tried a grain free, my cat and dog stopped having skin and ear issues. Now I
have a new to us pooch (Mabel Anne, 20 Novemeber 2010 adoption, age 14,
beagle mix, obviously very elderly for the breed). Mabel was toe chewing,
skin licking, and has recurrant very hard to fix ear issues. Her belly was
*raw* with spots she'd taken down so far they were blood red. Well, she
fixed up fast on the same food i need for my grain issue dog and the rare
treat with grains appeared to set it off again with toe chewing so I'm
guessing she's not grain tolerant either. Don't freak, both dogs are beagle
mixes and they are prone to this more than most. Some web sites give it as
as a 10% incidence in this breed and others list a whopping 40% have
some level of food allergies issues in the beagle breed.
