Looks to me that I am having the same problem.  Haven't time to see if ~20
seconds, but it is long enough, that I don't want to read message.  When I
was in DC with a cable modem and Linux, I never saw it.  Then here I am
seeing it with ADSL.  But then again maybe in DC I was using my own news
server and having it read all the messages and only retrieving locally.
