FM>I've done some thinking on your postings relative to the expand-
ing of consciousness through drugs. How this might affect the
whole of reality, I'm not quite sure but on one aspect of this I
can certainly take a positive view. I don't think ANY human being
should have to suffer pain and discomfort if there are drugs that
with skillful use which can relieve same. Use by the healthy, I'm
not so certain about. I've never quite comprehended how an
"expanded personal consciousness" could benefit ON the way down or
IN the DOWN stage. After I got hold of myself my highs were
confined to two martinis!! I cannot dismiss your emphasis on
drugs and relation to "revelation," out of hand. Not sure,
however, how this would promote the kind of steady differentiation
that would move from theophany to theophany.>FM

One of my Favorite quotes in Neitzsche's The Birth of Tragedy...
looking at how their art reflected life with such genius...
"What potion these heady people must have drunk in order to
behold, in whatever direction they looked, Helen laughing back at
them, the beguiling image of their own existence."

I do not know that Kykeon was *necessary* for the flowering of
such genius in so many men and women; for we have seen such art
created elsewhere, without the use of any chemistry. But, OTOH,
I don't see such flowering of genius in such *density* among a few
million (mostly young by our standards) people.

Seems like I recall Aristotle commenting how difficult it was for
a slave to passion, (in testosterone overdose) to still the mind
enough for enough reflection to figure out just what the hell was
going on, and for such as these, Kykeon would have been perfect.

For a mature mind, with a wealth of experience, a wealth of wide
reading about how to interpret that experience, and the leisure to
reflect on it all, the likelihood of further great insight seems
to be reduced; nevertheless it does remain.

The question I get from Freidrich, is that if you *have* the
vision to see what *is*, and see what you can do about it, why do
you sit there to submit to the will of Allah? He is telling all
mankind to quit asking for the help of Daddy, and grow up, and
take some responsibility, and you cannot *do* that, if you are
going around all the time trying to figure out what the will of
*God* is for crissake.
