So.... It doesn't look like you got any help here. Did you
find out anything interesting in netmail? E-mail, perhaps? I've
been poking around a bit and so far I'm not wild about anything
I've seen. AdeptXBBS sounded really great at first, but while I
respect the effort, in its current state it's just not for me. I
like a number of the features, but I'd rather use BinkleyTerm and
JAM than AdeptXBBS's mailer and message base. Besides, the
documentation is a disorganized mess, and if I had time to deal
with that, endless echomail or hours of IRC, I'd have time for
Maximus. I like the flexibility of Maximus, but I don't like that
it's so time consuming. Several I'd heard of once upon a time
seem to have dropped off the face of the planet and several others
just aren't reasonably priced, in my opinion, given the rather
questionable future of regular BBS'ing. Most of what's left seems
to fall into the same category as AdeptXBBS; plenty of features
but too many proprietary elements. What I would really like is
something like RA, but native OS/2 software. Anyway... have you
heard anything? Do you have anything to share? In the meantime
I think I'll take a look at Synchronet.
